BMW FX400 Clutch Kit - Clutch Masters 03228-HDCL-D
BMW FX400 Clutch Kit - Clutch Masters 03228-HDCL-D
The FX400 System uses the Power Plus I Pressure Plate with a custom, extremely durable, Sprung Ceramic disc. This is the ultimate extreme duty street and/or road/drag racing system. It is available in a 6 or 8 ceramic puck configuration, with the 6-puck being the more aggressive setup and 8-puck being the less aggressive (please specify which type you prefer). The Sprung hub design allows for moderate dampening in high-torque applications, rendering it much more street friendly than solid or Sprung designs. This disc is designed for outstanding holding capacity, and rapid heat dissipation.
The FX400/HDC6 ceramic paddle design creates a quick and rapid engagement as well as clutch chatter that may not be ideal for street driven vehicles. *Warning: Due to the solid (no Marcel) friction rivet design, the FX400/HDC6 disc engages very quickly and may chatter slightly in first and reverse. To help alleviate this problem, we only use premium ceramic friction material.

*Organic/ Kevlar/ Formula Button Clutch Kits are expected and tend to have a higher life expectancy than OEM, however not guaranteed. Improper Installation, Driving style, performance upgrades, Break in procedure and light weight flywheels will effect and have a role in determining the life expectancy of the clutch Kit. High Technology Makes the Difference. Historically, high performance clutches have been a compromise. While improving holding or clamping pressure, manufacturers nearly always increase pedal pressure to an uncomfortable point, especially for stop-and-go traffic. Besides drivability concerns, additional pedal pressure can adversely affect stock clutch linkage and cause premature thrust bearing wear, leading to missed shifts, damaged clutch components, and even engine destruction. Today, thanks to Clutch Masters, increased holding pressure does not necessarily mean increased pedal pressure and the problems that can accompany it. By re-engineering the leverage or fulcrum point on the pressure plate through their Hi-Leveragetm technique, Clutch Masters has increased clamping power, often without changing pedal pressure.
