Fitment for the G01 X3 M40i and G02 X4 M40i
The BMW X3 M40i Eventuri intake has been developed to provide the turbo with a less restrictive flow path whilst maintaining low inlet temperatures.
In the M40i, the intake system’s proximity to the exhaust manifold poses a challenge, rapidly heating the engine bay. Elevated temperatures compromise engine performance, necessitating a solution that ensures minimal intake air temperatures (IATs). Our solution comprises of a fully sealed intake system, designed to counteract heat soak and prevent the turbo from drawing in heated air.
Moreover, our sealed airbox features a heat shield lined with gold reflective, effectively minimizing radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. To optimize airflow volume, we’ve maximized the airbox size, incorporating a recess to accommodate the strut brace seamlessly.
Replacing the stock convoluted intake tube, our design employs a prepreg carbon tube, boasting a much larger internal volume with an internal diameter of 109mm (4.3″) that seamlessly tapers down to match the turbo inlet, ensuring an uninterrupted airflow path. Complementing this design is a custom-made high-flow dry filter, rigorously tested for ISO-certified filtration performance and boasting a larger filtration area compared to the stock filter.The Eventuri X3/X4 M40i intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fiber with no fibreglass which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow. Eventuri was founded by a team of engineers and enthusiasts with a background in Aeronautics and tuning – all sharing a passion for cars and performance. After owning various intakes over many years for our own cars and being disappointed with the gains which seldom lived up to their claims – we decided to take things into our own hands and rewrite the book. Our systems are extensively developed using cutting edge design, testing and prototyping methods. With a focus on performance, each design undergoes CFD analysis and is then validated at the prototype stage through volumetric airflow, intake temperature and extensive dynamometer testing. We strive to publish all the development information to illustrate the depths we go to in bringing an intake from concept to reality. Only the best materials are selected for each component – even down to the choice of fasteners and fixings in order to ensure that the quality of the end product is second to none.
